THE SUFFICIENCY OF CHRIST!

There is a belief in Christianity today that all the spiritual resources we gain when we are saved are somehow not enough to meet our real needs. So, we look for something more. Something in addition to Christ. Maybe an emotional experience or a selfish indulgence of some sort. And it has opened the doors to all kinds of influences that have landed, unfortunately, in the church.

It has led to false doctrines and teachings, legalism, humanism and secularism that are hindering the old ship of Zion (the Church). People want to be entertained rather than edified. They want to be told what nice and good people they are and that the world is at their fingertips. They concoct a mixture of Biblical theology with man-made solutions. And they want it quickly. The result is that it has produced a watered-down brand of Christianity that is drained of its vitality, effectiveness and security!

Colossians 2:9-10 states that you are complete in Christ.

In Christ you have all you need.

He is your sufficiency.

There is no need to add anything to Him.

The minute you add anything to Christ you dilute the truth.

“Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you So said Jesus in Matthew 6:33.

Paul in Philippians 4:19 declares that “my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus my Lord.”

The Bible teaches that Jesus is enough! Salvation is always by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone for the glory of God alone! So says the Scripture.
