WEEK 10: SPIRITUAL GIFTS
DAY 4: DEFINITIONS OF THE SPIRITUAL GIFTS
MEMORY VERSE: The are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit; there are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.” I Corinthians 12:4-5
It is impossible to fully define these gifts in a digital discipleship class, so I am going to be selective and succinct:
Prophecy: to speak forth God’s Word
Ministry: serving others
Teacher: explains the truth of God’s Word
Exhortation: one who encourages
Giving: shares generously and lovingly
Leader: presides or rules
Mercy: offers sympathy to others
Word of Wisdom: applying knowledge to spiritual life
Word of Knowledge: understanding spiritual truth
Faith: not saving faith but unique faith for special things
Healing: Not operative today as in New Testament days
Miracles: mostly limited to Apostolic times to corroborate the Word
Discerning spirits: is this of God or the Devil?
Tongues: ability to speak previously unknown languages
Interpretation: ability to translate a language not previously learned
Helps: practical assistance to those in need
Evangelists: reaching lost people for Christ
Pastor/Teacher: leads and guides a church
Extremely brief but a general idea.
