WEEK 11: LIFESTYLE EVANGELISM
DAY 1: ALWAYS WITNESSING
MEMORY VERSE: “But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear.” I Peter 3:15
A true disciple of Christ should always be witnessing. A Christian should always be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks him/her about their faith. Communication of the gospel story should be a top priority for the believer. We should always be looking for an opportunity to share our faith clearly and regularly, with increasing skill and exactness.
New Testament evangelism had three primary characteristics:
The people identified themselves with Jesus. Acts 5:42
The people demonstrated the fruit of the Spirit with their lives and activities. Acts 4:13. Look long at Peter and John. They were strong and powerful witnesses.
The people were actively seeking to influence and tell others about Jesus Christ. Acts 2:46-47
Evangelism is the cutting edge of all biblical discipleship! Evangelism and discipleship are inseparable. The call is clear. The Scriptures are definite. Evangelism is a divine command. We are not called to “save” anyone but we are called to be a witness to everyone! It is a lifetime commitment!
What kind of a witness for Christ are you?
