WEEK 10: SPIRITUAL GIFTS
DAY 6: DANGERS AND CAUTIONS
MEMORY VERSE: “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit; there are differences of ministries, but he same Lord.” I Corinthians 12:4-5
Spiritual gifts can be abused and mis-used if not under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, as seen in the church at Corinth. You must always remember this truth. Spiritual gifts are given to edify the Church and build up and encourage and strengthen the Body of Christ! Do not let Satan influence you to use a spiritual for self glory. Spiritual gifts can be counterfeited by Satan because he is the father of all lies.
In the Memory Verse for this week, note that “diversities”and “same” are used in the same verse. It means that there is diversity in the Church and there is unity within that diversity. Gifts that create division in the Church are not of the Lord. Use God’s Word as the source for all things!
Pursue spiritual gifts by:
Desiring to know what the gifts are
Dedicating yourself to Christ
Deepening your study of the Word of God
Discovering friends who use their spiritual gifts in the Church
Diligently trying --- using one gift may lead to the discovery of another
Dawning will come - God will reveal to you your gift! Or gifts!
