DAY 5: DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS
MEMORY VERSE: “There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit; there are differences of ministries, but the same Lord.” I Corinthians 12:4-5
If you really want to know and discover your spiritual gift it must be done within the framework of desiring to become more spiritually mature in Christ. Self gain, self glory and spiritual pride have absolutely no place in such a search and God will not bless! Various tests and helps have been developed to assist you in discerning what your spiritual gifts are but this discipleship blog doesn't have the space to do that. Your spiritual gift will be similar to a natural talent in that you enjoy and desire doing it and using it. You will tend to be drawn to activities that function within the realm of your gift. Try activities that appeal to you and see if you believe that you are gifted by the Lord in that area. Others will be able to help recognize your gift. They will be blessed, edified and ministered to … when you use your gift.
Know what the spiritual gifts are.
Know where in the Bible they are found.
Know yourself: likes, dislikes, abilities, talents, etc.
Prayer and meditation are critical.
Talk to a Pastor or trusted friend.
Find ways to exercise your gift(s) in the church!
