JESUS AND HIS EMOTIONS

 JESUS AND HIS EMOTIONS

TEXT: “And He looked at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart …” Mark 3:5

We have seen that the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is God!

We have also seen that Jesus Christ is man!

Hence the term the “God-man” from I Timothy 2:5

In Ecclesiastes 3:4-7 Solomon stated that

“There is a time to weep and a time to laugh

A time to mourn and a time to dance

A time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing

A time to keep silent and a time to speak”

In Jesus Christ we have the union of two natures in one person, the man Christ Jesus. As a man He experienced emotions such as you and I have. At times, He expressed joy. On occasions, He expressed grief. He had feelings and often expressed them. And at other times, He demonstrated anger - a righteous anger, a holy anger that was directed at sin and the hardness of men’s hard. See the text above.

He knew the origin of sin.

He knew all about its deceptions.

He knew all about its allurements and attractiveness.

But he also knew something else. He knew where sin ends up and its awful costs .

He knew that sin would destroy a person’s life and damn him in an eternal Hell forever.

And it made Him angry! He died for sin AND its cost!

Do you ever get angry at sin because you know what Jesus knew?
