READING ABOUT HIS LIFE

 READING ABOUT HIS LIFE

TEXT: “O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken. Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into His glory? And beginning with Moses and all the prophets He interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.”  Luke 24:25-27

If you could read a book about your life --- all your life, even the time, the place and way of death --- would you want to know? Would you want to read that book? Imagine the curiosity and anxiety that would flood your soul. Imagine the fear and dread of reading that final chapter …

As one who read the Old Testament ---Jesus learned of His sufferings, death and glory. The Holy Spirit of God brought to His life the truth of Scripture about Himself. He knew why He came. He knew the exact place and method of His death. And he knew when, where and why! And He went forward, anyway, with joy and determination!

It was the eternal decree of God. II Timothy 1:9

He was foreordained for that cross.  Revelation 13:8

It was part of a covenant the Father made with His Son. Titus 1:2

And Jesus told those two disciples on the Emmaus Road all about it ... just a week after His resurrection. Can you imagine?

The story of your life has already been written.

Only God knows how it will end up!

If you want to go to heaven when you die -- you had better trust in Christ alone for your salvation. Repent of your sins and come to Him for sin’s forgiveness!
