THE CURSE OF EASY BELIEVISM
Today’s evangelism is radically defective.
Interest in spiritual things is at a low ebb.
Sound doctrine is on the wane.
Church membership and attendance is declining.
Rise of Lone Rangerism. (only the old people will understand this one)
Many people have been fatally deceived and Jesus spoke of this in Matthew 7:21-23
Why has this happened? And happened so quickly?
Preachers have failed to preach the whole counsel of God. We have done a poor job of explaining what true belief means and the absolute necessity of repentance.
The Church has failed to disciple the ones who have expressed interest in growth and development. We have invested in other activities than the ones that produce spiritual growth.
We have told people they can have Jesus as Savior without taking Him as Lord! This is an outright lie. You cannot accept who Jesus is --- without acknowledging who He is. And He is Lord. Acts 2:36
We have not held professing believers accountable nor practiced church discipline.
We have sat back, watched it all happen and done nothing! Thusly, we have inherited a number of people into the Church who have never truly been saved. They have a cultural Christianity!
