WEEK ONE: THE ETERNAL SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER
DAY 6: THREE ASPECTS OF SALVATION
MEMORY VERSE: “These things I write to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life.” I John 5”13
Salvation is a wonderful and glorious reality! It encompasses eternity past to eternity future. You were chosen in Christ before the foundation of the world and you will live with Christ in the new earth and new heaven forever more! Your salvation is a comprehensive redemption and includes these three aspects.
When you were converted, saved, regenerated you were immediately justified in the court of heaven. Based on the work of Christ alone, God pronounces you righteous as you were saved from the penalty of sin. That is called justification! You have the great privilege of knowing God because of Christ!
Salvation also includes being saved from the very power of sin as we continue to live and struggle in this life. Sanctification means “set apart for a specific reason.” The Lord saved you to serve Him!
Thirdly, you will be saved, one day, from the very presence of sin! The Bible calls this glorification. This aspect includes a new and resurrected body that is free from the stain and burden of sin. A new body, just like Christ’s body. I John 3:1-3.
Therefore, our salvation has three components – past, present and future. "He who has begun a work in you will complete until the day of Christ." So says Philippians 1:6. God will finish what He starts!
