THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE BIBLE

DAY # 3: THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE BIBLE

MEMORY VERSE: “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

                                                                                                      II Timothy 3:16-17

Many Christians are aware that the Holy Spirit has something to do with the Bible but are not quite sure what that is. The Bible is a special book because it was “inspired” by the Lord. It was God-breathed, God-created, God-sustained and God-preserved!  God used many different authors (40 different authors) over many different years (a period of some 1500 years) to compose His word!

The Bible writers were led by the Holy Spirit. He used their education and their minds in unique, historical circumstances to reveal His truth. It is well to remember the role of the Trinity in the inspiration and communication of the Scriptures:

God the Father is the author of revelation.

Jesus the Son is the primary subject.

The Holy Spirit is the agent through whom the Bible is revealed!

Think about it > if God can create something out of nothing in Genesis 1, surely He can write a book!

Scriptures to read and study:

I Corinthians 2:10-11

Ephesians 5:8-10

Romans 8:5-6
