MAJOR ATTRIBUTES OF GOD Part I
This side of heaven, we will never be able to fully understand the character of God but below is a list of the major attributes of God that we will be looking at and seeing their relevance for us as the people of God. Today, I will list five of the attributes:
God is self-existent: He has life in Himself and depends on no one for anything!
God is spiritual: He does not have a material body; distinct from material, visible and finite creatures.
God is sovereign: He rules and reigns and governs all that He has created. R. C. Sproul said that if there is one loose molecule running loose in the universe then God is not sovereign.
God is holy: different from and other than, set apart, pure, blameless and flawless in all os His being.
God is immutable: He never changes; He is perfect in all His ways so why would He ever need to change?
Who cares that God is self-existent? Spiritual? Sovereign? Holy? immutable?
Read Daniel 4:35, Jeremiah 9:23-24 and Psalm 115:3.
