THE ATTRIBUTES OF GOD
For the past few weeks we have been discussing the person and work of Jesus Christ. In that study we discovered that the Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is God --- the eternal Son of the Living God. He came to reveal who God was, and what God was like. He came to teach us specific truths about God.
All of which --- leads me to say --- that Jesus taught that salvation is simply knowing God. It is knowing Him in a personal and intimate way. Growing in grace requires that we grow in our knowledge of God. We will never, ever understand everything about God but there are some things that we should and must know. And that is why we are going to embark on a little journey to discover some truths about God that will assist us in our understanding of who God really is!
The better we know someone the better relationship we can have with them. Their personality,likes, dislikes, their desires, their history and background, their values and beliefs, etc.
Robert Letham says:
“This is eternal life, that we may know the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, whom He has sent, in the power and grace of the Holy Spirit. In His presence is life and joy forevermore, not simply for us, but for others beyond, for those yet to believe and for those not yet even born, for generations to come and beyond that, for eternity.”
