GOD'S GREAT LOVE

Have you ever felt especially loved by someone?

Like, they did something very special for you?

Went the extra mile?

Went out of their way?

Did something for you that no one else does?

 

This is what God did for us as His very own. Ephesians 2:4-5 speaks of the “great” love of God for us. He did something for us that no one else could ever do.

 

That “great love” = wonderful, eternal, magnanimous love from God Himself!

 

That great love “makes us alive” --- to God’s truth, beauty, and glory. We were dead to it but His love has quickened us and made us alive to it. We didn’t demand it. We didn’t deserve it. We cannot do anything to earn it. But He loved us, even while we were yet sinners. (Romans 5:6)

 

God’s great love does not make everyone alive but it happened to YOU! God called you; God saved you; God made you alive! And for that, you should be very grateful.

 

God has a special, unique and redemptive love for His own people. He not only says it --- He actually expressed in the gift of His Son on the cross. That love should inspire faithfulness in every area of our spiritual lives! Every area!
