The message of the Bible is simple: GOD SAVES SINNERS! Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. The Lord uses people to accomplish His purposes. But not just any people. He is looking for people who exhibit certain qualities and they are listed as follows:
He is looking for FOOLISH people. In I Corinthians 4:10, Paul speaks of being “fools for Christ’s sake.” To the unbelieving world our message is foolish. Our method (preaching the Gospel) is foolish. I Corinthians 1:18 says that “the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing.”
He is looking for FRAIL people. I Corinthians 4:7 asks “what do you have that you did not receive? Who made you different from others?” Everything you have is a gift of God’s grace. And it all could vanish in a second! Don’t be arrogant and proud and haughty! Be humble. Remember your human frailty.
He is looking for FAITHFUL people. I Corinthians 4:2 “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” Faithful to God. To the Church. To Truth. To using spiritual gifts. To the financial support of supporting church. To missions. To other believers. To the Bible. To your family!
Is God using you? He only uses foolish, frail and faithful people!
