“The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart.
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever.
The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether.”
In Psalm 19:7-9 David makes six statements about the characteristics of God’s Word. That Word is called by various names:
The law of the Lord
The testimony of the Lord
The precepts of the Lord
The commandment of the Lord
The fear of the Lord and
The judgments of the Lord
That means that the Holy Scriptures came from the Lord Himself.
It is His truth, His Word. That Word is active, not passive. It is dynamic, not static.
It is life transforming. And it is sufficient for all things!
The Law restores the soul.
The Testimony of the Lord imparts wisdom.
The Precepts of the Lord produce joy!
The Commandments of the Lord enlightens the eyes.
The Fear of the Lord endures forever.
The Judgments of the Lord bring accountability.
Be a lifetime student of the Word!
